Takeaways from the end of England.

WIP

Work began in the late 90s while at Falmouth Arts College, working at ‘Balti Curries’ in the town and collecting the stories of those who ran the establishment.

Following those initial works, I have returned at different points and photographed several restaurants and takeaways. I have met many families who have made Cornish towns and villages their homes for decades.

The photos below were taken in Falmouth, Penzance, Newlyn, Watchet, Helston, Redruth and Penryn. The restaurants range from Bengali, Chinese, Indian, Nepali, and ‘fusion’ cuisines. Many of the owners and staff have migrated to Cornwall and some born in the county.
